are new to art or rediscovering your creative side, we have something

Handmade Book Publication
26th & 27th July
Saturday & Sunday

Aimed at artists working in 2D, on this course you will use your own
artwork as you learn the basic principles of book construction. The
course will look at variety of book-binding styles from around the world,
particularly Germany and Japan. You will be working alongside a designer
to create a limited edition publication of your own artworks, such as
small prints, paintings or drawings etc. The final results will truly
enhance your own art practice.

Life Painting:
A One Week Intensive
4th - 8th August

Get into the dynamics of life painting on this intensive open level
course.
This course will help you develop a real understanding of the breadth
of
techniques involved in creating a life painting. You will begin by drawing
from the model to explore what makes a dramatic pose. As the course
progresses you will learn how to prepare boards or canvas for painting,
to transfer drawing to painting with initial sketches in paint and to
develop an
understanding of layers through to the finished piece. You will be guided
at every step to develop a painting style of your own. By the end of
the week
you will have created an impressively scaled, finished painting.

Figure Drawing from Inside
Out
Movement Based FigureDrawing

In this intensive week you will draw the human figure from the inside
out. Working with moving dancer models from different dance disciplines,
and a range of
materials, we will approach figure drawing through a deep exploration
of movement dynamics, and mark making. We will work to bring the mark
making intention of you the artist into harmony with the movement and
intention of the dancer being drawn. You will have fun with different
approaches to drawing from the inside out, and you will focus in on
developing your drawing and painting skills. Expect to be surprised,
and to surprise yourself. The course will culminate with an exhibition
of the weeks work, and an interactive event -'Dancing with the Brush'.

painting. Through still life and model you'll learn basic methods and

4 Steps to Animation
(Regular 4 day courses)
This is a concentrated four day course which
will give you an introduction to 3D model and cut out animation. In
order to put together a short animated sequence to showcase your animation
skills you will be shown how to, from start to finish, design and make
your own stop frame puppet character and through a series of exercises
learn how to animate. Run by BAFTA award winning Animation Director
Kevin Griffiths.

4 Day Shadow Puppet Workshop
Learn how to make your own puppet show, choose
your subject, write a story or even poem. Learn how to design and make
your shadow puppet characters and be taught how to act them out - all
possible in a concentrated 4 day course run by professional puppeteer

A ten week course for beginners and those with
some experience, teaching the techniques of hand built ceramics. Learn
the basics such as coiling, slabbing etc then design, build and glaze
your own individual piece.
