An Introduction

Learn to applythe principles of Art and Design in Photography on this stimulating course. Explore your imagination whilst creating well-composed and satisfying images. If you are new to photography you will quickly gain confidence in the foundations of photography, while if you already have experience you will have the opportunity to re-examine your approach, furthering the development of your technical and expressive skills. The course will cover the principles of composition, including abstraction and juxtoposition; graphic design in photography; the basic properties of colour and structuring an image; the use of natural and artificial light; special processes and the world of the Artist in photography. Work will develop informally, through weekly group discourse led by the tutor and will end with a critique and exhibition held in IAF's Cafe Gallery
